The Columbia Academy of Psychodynamics developed from The Columbia Study Group on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, meeting monthly since 1978 as a study group of The Washington School of Psychiatry. We have hosted Joanne Greenberg, author of I Never Promised You a Rose Garden, Joyce McDougall, author of Plea for a Measure of Abnormality, Joseph Sandler, Joseph Lichtenberg, Robert Langs, Stephen Mitchell and Jay Greenberg. Our activities are planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Sheppard Pratt Health System and the Columbia Academy of Psychodynamics. Sheppard Pratt Health System is accredited the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Sheppard Pratt Health System is recognized by the National Board of Certified Counselors, provider #5098, to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC Continuing Education Guidelines. Sheppard Pratt Health System is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners of Maryland to offer continuing education for Social Workers and is accredited by the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists to offer continuing education for psychologists. Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Mental Health Systems is teaming up with us providing CE credits for psychiatrists as well as for psychologists and social workers. They are also providing publicity for our events in their newsletters. |
